Go to https://twitter.com/

Then follow the next four steps to look up hashtags on Twitter and how to retweet. If you find yourself having any questions, please ask a librarian for help.

#MCCBiz

How to Retweet

1. Find an article you want to comment on. At the bottom, you will see the “retweet”      button.

2. Click on “retweet”    button.  Then add comment in the space provided. Be sure to include #MCCBiz.

3. Hit “Retweet”.

@ vs #

What's the different between @ and #

@middlesex_cc is addressing a user. Think of of it as AT SOMEONE. In the case of @middlesex_cc, it's addressing the community college

#MCCBiz is related to a movement, issue, or trend. It's a way to search, like Google. So #MCCBiz is searching for tweets related to the movement or a class.

Step One

On the Twitter homepage towards the left side of the screen, you'll see a magnifying glass icon. Click on it

Step Two

Type in the hashtag you're looking up, for this example we're going to use #entrepreneurship

Step Three

Look through the results. Remember since this page is in real time, it might be difficult to find the same tweet. If you find a tweet you that's really helpful write down the person, time, and date.

Step Four

Not finding exactly what you're looking for? Add another hashtag. The example below is #entrepreneurship #college . You don't need to include AND when you search.
