HST 121: U.S. History Before 1876 (Botker): Finding Articles

History Databases

 Searching U.S.History in Context Database

When you are searching on databases, you'll only use KEYWORDS, which usually are the main topics of your research. Below is an example search in US HISTORY IN CONTEXT. I'll be research the Salem Witch Trials.

Database results usually give you a range of types of sources, from scholarly articles to newspapers. In US HISTORY IN CONTEXT, there is a tool box on the right side that has a list of different types of sources.

There's a search box below the list of types of sources, where you could enter a keyword to narrow down the results. Below is an example of narrowing down my Salem Witch Trial to include sources about Tituba or mention her.
