Fake News, Real News: Checking the URLs

You can't believe every article tweeted or posted on Facebook. Here are just a few things to help you figure out if it's fake news:

Check the logo and the "look-and-feel" of the website....

For example, if you click on an article published by ABC News but it doesn't LOOK like a news site, nor is it the ABC logo, then it's a fake news site.

Next, check the URL....

If the URL has an extra .co added after the .com, it's a fake news site. If you're looking at this website on Facebook, be sure to report it as fake news.

Not all fake news sites have the .com.co at the end of the URL. Check the news they are reporting; it might be based on actual current events with a false spin.
