What Database Should I Use?
Hello. I am Mark Matook, Student Success Librarian of Systems and Electronic Resources for the Middlesex Community College Libraries. This is MCCLibVids FAQ. Today, we are answering the question: Which database should I use?
In some of our LibVids, we have shown you how to use MCC Search to find eBooks, articles, and more. Sometimes, it can be more effective to search within particular databases that are focused on your research area. To find databases that suit your research needs, you’ll first want to click on the blue button labeled “Databases” in the center of the library home page. You’ll see that there are over 100 databases available to you. Your MCC Librarians have worked to make it bit easier for you to decide which are best for your research. By clicking the dropdown menu labeled “All Subjects” you will see a list of subjects. Choose a subject that aligns with your field of study or with one of the topics that you are researching. You will then get a focused list of databases that will likely suit your need.
If you have any questions about this and other topics, we encourage you to contact an MCC Librarian by visiting our site and using some of the many means of contact.
