Accessing Kanopy
Hello. I am Mark Matook, Student Success Librarian of Systems and Electronic Resources for the Middlesex Community College Libraries. This is MCCLibVids FAQ. Today, we are answering the question “How do I access Kanopy?”
If your professor has not provided a link to the Kanopy film, access Kanopy by: Navigating to the library homepage, click the blue button in the center of the page labeled “videos”, then click “Kanopy” in the list of video streaming platforms offered by the MCC Libraries.
The following instructions are for anyone in the MCC Community attempting to access Kanopy or play a linked Kanopy film.
If accessing from off-campus, you will be prompted to first login to the MCC Libraries. Simply click, “Login to Middlesex”. To login, enter your library credentials. For students, enter your A# with a capital “A” as your username. As your password, the default is your birthday in MMDDYYYY format. For faculty, enter your MCC username or the first part of your email address — before the “@“ symbol — for your username. If faculty have not yet established a library account, they may quickly do so by contacting the MCC Libraries. If faculty, staff, or students have forgotten their password, they may reset it on the login page when prompted by clicking “forgot your password” then entering their username or email address on the resulting page.
Once you complete the library login, you will have to login to your personal Kanopy account. If you have not yet created an account with Kanopy, you can do so now. Use any memorable username or password. You may also add other library memberships such as Boston Public Library to your Kanopy account. Once in Kanopy, you can search and browse through the many titles accessible by being a part of the MCC Community.
If you have any questions about this and other topics, we encourage you to contact an MCC Librarian by visiting our site and using some of the many means of contact.
