Research Results- How Much Do They Pay?

“Average check at fine dining $28, casual $13.75” (Statista).

“New York City is known as a pricey city, especially for restaurants, and the results from this year's survey reaffirm that reputation. New York City surveyors reported spending an average of $48.44 for dinner out, $12.14 over the national average of $36.30.” (Zagat)

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT: This info supports our target market, yet, we were looking for $30 – 35 per check. But even in NYC, the most expensive dining out city, the average check is $36. We wanted per person! This should be a red flag to consider.

NOTE: Restaurants need to consider the “turn rate” for each table, per night, average cover size (meaning number of diners), and an average check amount.
