Election 2020: Mail-in and Absentee Voting

Every Vote Counts

Vote by Mail

Absentee voting is voting that does not happen in person on Election Day but instead occurs another way—usually by mail. All states allow for some form of absentee balloting. Some states require voters to provide a valid excuse to vote absentee, while others allow any eligible voter to cast an absentee ballot.

Voting by mail is available for all 2020 Massachusetts voters. You do not need an excuse to vote by mail in 2020. You just need to request your mail-in ballot by October 20, 2020You may still choose to vote in-person instead, even if you requested a mail-in ballot. (From National Conference of State Legislatures)

Already requested a mail-in ballott? Check the status of your ballot. See if the ballot has been mailed to you and make sure your ballot is counted.
