Genocide: Genocide

The term "genocide" did not exist before 1944. It is a very specific term, referring to violent crimes committed against groups with the intent to destroy the existence of the group.

Fights to end genocide and crimes against humanity, focused on areas where some of the world’s worst atrocities occur.

Works to prevent genocide by studying how and why genocides occur; raises public awareness about genocide and the need for action by leaders; increases the capacity of government decision makers to respond to impending mass atrocities; and builds political will among leaders to respond when genocides threaten.

Provides grassroots efforts toward exposing and correcting human rights violations of governments worldwide, and aims to foster dialogue and collaboration between people who share this common vision.
